I had made the Buffalo Belles and was so proud and so sad that we had to move. Charlie Flowers is my older brother . He would have been a 1969 graduate. We both graduated from West Orange high school, '69 & '70. I have seen the facebook website for Voth-Rosedale elementary and it really takes me back to some wonderful old memories. I don't have my old school pictures because we lost so many things when it flooded during hurricane Audrey so I love seeing the ones that have been posted. Glad I found this one too.

      Comments: I am happy to find this site and maybe recontact with some old friends. I left Beaumont in Aug 1973 and moved to Houston for 12 years. I was married to Larry Hancock til 1976 when we divorced. I remarried later that year to Steve Mozley and we raised two sons, Jared 12-2-77 and Casey 8-12-81. That marriage ended in 1983 and we moved back to Beaumont late in 1984 where I have been ever since.. My oldest has been married 12 years and I have one six year old granddaughter named Gabriella and they live in Allen TX north of Dallas. My youngest in 30 now and never married but that may change soon. I attened a funeral today for Darla Mack Case. She passed away on Sunday 11-6-11. It was a very sad day but I wanted to share with some of you who may remember her.

I've lived various places in the world in my 36+ year career in construction management with Exxon and ExxonMobil, after graduating from Lamar in May '74 with a BS degree in civil engineering. I received a Chemical Engineering degree from Lamar in 1974, and ended up in an executive position with BP, but all that already seems far in the past. I don�t get to the site very often, but enjoy checking in from time to time to see what�s up.       9-06-03..Last night I recognized one of my classmates from French High School in my cafe (The Beach Rock Cafe)...as I have been living and working in Crystal Beach for over 2 years now, I am amazed that she was the first person I actually recognized (and she recommended viewing this site...thank you)...I remember many get-togethers at the beach in the late 60's and early 70's (bonfires were the highlight of the end of the day)....these memories are as vivid as the 11st circle.... :-)

I have since found myself married to a wonderful man, Mark, 8 years my junior who thinks I am beautiful, smart, and funny. I have a great son, Zach, who is absorbed with theatre and has a girlfriend who is a costumer. They are on their way to NY as we speak. At 26, I guess that he doesn't need my permission. He didn't ask for it anyway. I teach in a Montessori school and have for the last 10 years. We love to fish, camp, golf poorly, and the arts. Mark has been in professional theatre for 20 years. He is currently TD for the State Theatre in Austin. We have 3 cats, a dog, a duck, and various fish. My sister and 2 brothers also went to French. Jimmy is here in Austin working as a mechanic and riding his Harley. He is a grandpa 7 times over. Matt is in Orange working for Chevron. Patty is in Vidor. She and her husband are owner-operators. She is a grandma 6 times over. I can't get Zach to even think about marriage much less kids. Well, I am a great Aunt! Thanks again for this site. I'm a professional jewelry manufacturer, and am adding to my carrier with trophies, plaques and engraving at a local store in Conroe. My favorite teachers were Mrs. Callaway(English 11th grade) and Mrs. (I think) Gallier who taught VOE. One taught me why english was so important and the other why respect for ones self and others and your job was so valuable. My special memories were fridays and the halls decorated for the games, the ribbons and the pep rallies. Also the plays the drama class did and tallent shows. Her name is Madelyn and she has a great Godfather, Chris Stiteler, class of 70. Best memories are of the band , Mrs. Slovak, Big Bill Driskell, and getting ZZ Top for our senior prom. I'm aBuff from the class of '70. My brother Thom classof '69 and my sister Lynne, class of '73. My Dad T.R. Wilson taught government and economics at French from 1962 until 1978. He dearly loved the old school. He passed away in 1983. My mom was a permenant sub at the school during the 60's and 70's. She passed away last October. Attended Lamar University until 1973 when I met a Big Senior, Rodney Neal Cain (BHS '69). We married and came to the Big City of Houston where Rodney began his mechanical engineering career. Interestingly Rodney was a T.A. at Lamar and graded papers/tests which included those of David Shimek, Steve Stanley and Neal Baker. Maybe you guys remember him. We have been married 26 yrs. and have one son, Eric Neal Cain (26), who is a graduate M.E. and an alumni tuba player from the "Goin' Band from Raiderland" from Texas Tech University class of Dec. '97. Eric and Rodney both work at Kellogg Brown & Root in downtown Houston. I graduated from Lamar 7 yrs. later in 1980 with a BS in Art (graphic design/commercial art). I worked in the E & C industry for 15 yrs., as a legal asst. for a while and ! we have both been involved with band at Taylor High School and Texas Tech University. During my son's 5 1/2 yrs at TTU, I re-established the TTU Dads & Moms Assn. Houston chapter in Houston and the surrounding area. They currently number 3: West Houston, NW Houston and NE Houston. Hope to really start my "own career" soon. My girlfriends at FHS were Darlene Covel Anderson and Dana Peters Weisenhorn. I remember going to football games when it was chilly and drinking hot chocolate. We cruised 11th st. too, went to the Gateway skating rink every weekend, the Pig Stand for a "ricky" and always had to go to Burger Chef! Mr. Boston was a great history teacher! Does anyone remember having "Ruby Duby" for chemistry? I think that was the only class I ever failed...what was I thinking! How many buffalo skins do you all think Mr. Coody gave at graduation over the years?!? Have never seen some of our classmates at a reunion. Does anyone know where Judy Copp, Verna Danine, Jack! ie DeBartolo and Harry Hoge are now? Showtown drive-in is now a golf driving range but sat vacant for years! My family stills lives in Lumberton and sometimes Rodney and I drive out to Lamar, or BHS & FHS buildings and they all look old and worn! The Class of 1970 does not have very many people listed so let's all work on getting them on here.

      Comments: Married high school sweetheart and classmate, Vicki Easter (class of 70 and best friend). Married 30 years in August, 2000. My years at FHS were good years with many fond memories. Band, choir, music theory and the French High Folksingers come close to the top of the list. However, meeting Vicki Easter at our junior year's Homecoming Bonfire tops the list. During my senior year and for about a year later, I played professional music in clubs and bars. After being married a short time, I was born again never to go back to the clubs. Vicki and I began raising our family (3 children) in church and became a small time singing group. We played in many Christian bands working with teens teaching ministry. We have taken the Gospel into prisons in Texas, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Vicki and I are now in our 10th year of full-time evangelism ministry. Licensed and ordained by local Southern Baptist and Mission Service Corps Volunteer, our current work consists of a Mexico Mission where we build churches and supply food, clothes, toys, Bibles, and medical supplies to the poor. During the summer months we work with other churches assisting in neighborhood outreaches through our expertise in Block Party events. I am resting in God's perfect peace, serving Christ with joy, laboring because I am saved, expecting a good report card in heaven, praying that all who read this come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ the Lord!

      Comments: (updated Sept. '07)A lot has happened since I graduated and left Beaumont in 1970. I went to college in Utah 1970-1972, and then lived in Europe in Denmark, England, and South Wales during 1973-1974. I went back to Utah to finish college and graduated in 1976 cum laude, in Early Childhood Education (a double major of Elementary Education and Child Development and Family Relations). I have taught Kindergarten (1979-1980) and Second grade (1975-1976) with that degree. I married in 1977 and moved to Chicago, Illinois where I lived for three years (1977-1980). I worked there as a legal secretary and a professional genealogical researcher. I became accredited in Southern United States Genealogical research in 1977, and in Norwegian Research in 1995. I have helped in my husband's podiatry office while our children were being born and raised. I still help there. My husband and I started a genealogical research college in 2000 and taught and developed genealogical research courses while working at Heritage Genealogical College www.genealogy.edu and the Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City. We did that for four and a half years (2001-2005) before becoming independent from the Salt Lake Community College. We continue to work with Heritage Genealogical College teaching and developing research courses. My husband and I have also invested in real estate and manage renters and property on the side. (This is what we planned for retirement. I just hope that we can continue to survive the "joys" of dealing with renters and actually retire from our rental income someday!) I really enjoyed my time at French High School and the friends I had then. I haven't been back to Beaumont since 1981 because my parents moved to Florida in 1982. I do have an older sister, D'Ann, BHS 1963, now living in Beaumont in the house I grew up in. She has been there for about 10 years now. My younger sister, Linda, that many of you know passed away in 1995 from problems with lupus and diabetes. She was in the FHS class of 1972. My brother, Arthur, FHS class of 1966, moved to Utah about four years ago from North Carolina. It has been nice to have a family member living closeby. I would love to hear from any of you.       Comments: This is absolutely great and well done! I married Lloyd Kaspar, 1967 graduate of South Park in my senior year of high school. We were blessed with a wonderful son two years later, Dan W. Kaspar, who is now a police officer in Texas. Lloyd was killed in a accident in 1976 and I remarried several years later to another South Park graduate, David A. Jones. Our two sons, Nick (16) and Jacob (15) were born several years later. We transferred with my husband's job to Huntsville, Alabama in 1992 and then transferred to Louisville, Kentucky in 1997. A year later we were transferred again, but to our delight, back to Texas. My best friends back in high school were Kay Petitt, Lynn Pearson and Debra Ford. I still talk to Kay, but do not know where Lynn or Debra is. Would love to talk with anyone I went to school with.

      Comments: I settled in Houston. My husband is from the New Braunfels area. I have 3 children. The oldest is 27!!!! She and her sister are in Seattle and Lloyd and I have a 14 son. It will be fun to find out where a lot of my old classmates are now. My sisters, Nancy ('66), Carol('71), and Ginny('76) and brother Doug('78?) all graduated from French High, as well. Wow, it seems long ago!

      Comments: Andrew Droptini (class of '70) married in Dec 1972 and we have two children, Bryan will be 24 in June and Rachel will be 19 in May. Andrew has worked for Mobil Oil for 26 years now and I have worked for Matrix Engineering for 8 1/2 years after staying at home with the kids for most of their lives. Wouldn't have had that any other way. Bryan will play his 2nd year of pro baseball this summer in Sioux Falls SD and will be getting married in Jan 2000. Rachel is in her first year at Lamar and says she is interested in doing something in marine biology. Most of what I remember about high school centers around Belles. One of the most memorable events was our donkey softball game and Gay Page being allergic to the donkeys!!!
