Nathan Bibb '56
Nathan E. Bibb, 78, of China, died Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Chi St. Luke's Medical Center, Houston.
He was born on August 2, 1938, in Louisiana, to Rosa Bell Clement Bibb and Blakely William Bibb, and had been a longtime resident of China. Nathan graduated from French High School, Class of 1956.
He retired from GSU/Entergy as an engineer in 1995 after forty years of employment.
He is survived by his wife, Bettie Bibb, of China; children, Julie Faye Mead, of Lufkin; Lori Lee Sanders, of Sour Lake; Jodie Ellen Brown and her husband, Curtis, of Longview; Christopher Simmons and his wife, Melissa, of Valdosta, Georgia; Rinda Phelps and her husband, Daryl, of China; Joby Simmons and his wife, Wendy, of Daphne, Alabama; and Preston Simmons and his wife, Sherri, of Sour Lake; sixteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Wayne Bibb and his wife, Carolee, of Kountze.
A gathering of Mr. Bibb's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2016, at China United Methodist Church, 205 West Washington Avenue, China. A private family committal will be held at a later date. Billie McCallon Roberts
Billie Faye McCallon Roberts, age 75, passed away on February 19, 2014 at Plano Presbyterian Hospital, Plano, TX. She was born July 20, 1938 to Archie and Levie McCallon in Alco, LA. She was the youngest of nine children. She married Larry Gene Roberts in 1958 in Kountze, TX. They lived in Beaumont and Tyler before moving to Dallas in 1965.
She attended French High School in Beaumont TX, where she was a member of the Buffalo Belles drill team. She later married and dedicated her life to the roles of wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Billie never had a music lesson but could play the piano by ear. She loved gospel and country music, and was especially talented with singing.
At the age of 50 she recorded 2 original songs which were marketed to country radio stations across the US. Family was the most important thing to Billie throughout her life. She loved, cherished and nurtured each one when they were in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 5 siblings, Vervon McCallon, Norman McCallon, Irene McCallon Warlick, J.A. McCallon, and Earl McCallon. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law Bobby Howell. Billie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry Roberts; two daughters; and five grandchildren.
James D. Anderson, 67, of Vidor died Sunday, March 5, 2006 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, TX., and a graduate of French High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp.
He was a retired millwright after 25 years of faithful service with Ohmstede Machine Works in Beaumont, TX. He was a charter member of Victory Bible Baptist Church in Vidor, TX. He took great pride in his vegetable and flower gardens and kept an immaculate yard.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with cremation to follow at a later date. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles E and Sarah Anderson, three sisters Ethel Peno, Grace McCormick, and Ann Hill, one brother, Charles E. Anderson, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 17 years Wanda Oxley of Vidor, and the mother of his children Connie Anderson of Vidor, daughter Vicki Watson and husband David of Vidor, son Curtis Anderson and wife Lisa of Bridge City, TX., also David and Joey Oxley of Vidor, one brother Carl J. Anderson and wife Nell of Vidor. He was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren: Bryan Watson of Houston, TX.; Heather, Ashley, Brandon, and Blake Watson of Vidor; Bradley of Vidor, Austin, and Tyler Anderson of Bridge City, TX; Bradley Oxley and Sean Moncrief of Vidor, and numerous nieces and nephews. James will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Martha Ruth Robinson
Martha Robinson, 73, of Wildwood, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. Born on July 18, 1938, in Beaumont, to Marjorie Coker Beckner and Malcolm L. Beckner, she had been a longtime resident of Wildwood. Martha graduated from French High in 1956, and then went on to graduate from Lamar University, with a Bachelor's of Science degree.
She worked as a school teacher for Hamshire-Fannett Independent School District, until she retired. Martha loved spending time with her family, church, and friends. Survivors include her husband of fifty-five years, Arnold Robinson; son, Keith Robinson of San Antonio; daughter, Lynda Robinson of Phoenix, Arizona; granddaughters, Lauren Robinson and Elise Robinson; brothers, Tom Fitzgerald and Jerry Fitzgerald, both of Tyler; and sisters, Marilyn English of Simpsonville, South Carolina and Miriam Bertrand of Katy. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Malcolm Beckner.
A gathering of Mrs. Robinson's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Wildwood Baptist Church, 100 Wildwood Drive, Wildwood. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2012, at Wildwood Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Village Mills Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard's, Kountze.
